This cute collection has some of my favorites when it comes to a trip for just two. I look for a few specific things when I want to have romance sprinkled into my rental experience. The land surrounding the cabin needs plenty of trees. Where I live is a little city, houses out every window. There can be other structures on the land, a couple of these even have the owner living on sight but they have done such a great job of creating space. Another big thing is a fire feature, getting cozy by the fire is one of life's most simple treasures.

I loved waking up in the Hygge Barn. The pines towering outside the window were a sight to open my eyes to, the bed like a cloud with the soft snoring coming from my husband by my side. It encourages a soft, slow beginning to the day. When we finally tear ourselves out of bed we decide that it's a gelato for breakfast sort of morning, so we pop by Where We Met and grab some lattes as well. With our feet dangling off the dock we bask in the sun bouncing off the clearest water my eyes have ever seen. We wash our sticky fingers and soak up to our knees in the lake. The vibe of the cabin is perfect for a leisurely paced weekend of luxuriating together. Looking to get out? There is amazing bike riding, hiking and skiing within minutes of the cabin.
To look out every side of this unique cabin is to truly feel calm. Trees, fern, enormous boulders, nature is out every window. In the depths of winter when the snow is battering the huge panels of glass and you’re tucked safe and sound in front of the fire you will marvel at how beautiful the darkest time of year is. If you must leave you have the entire Berkshires at your doorstep to explore but I really cannot recommend staying in enough. Wrapped in bedsheets and lost in a book while the snow falls outside, it is a slice of paradise. To be honest I think a solo soiree here may be in order.
A charming antique cabin located on 50 acres of gorgeous southern forest? The romance novel practically writes itself. In all seriousness this location could not be more perfect for actually spending some true quality time with your lover. Perhaps an evening stroll down the drive for the clearest starry skies you have ever seen. A warm summer evening down by the river, cooking dinner over the fire and maybe a post meal dip in the water. Oh wait I know, a chilly night made toasty warm by the fireplace and whatever tasty meal is cooking the kitchen. I think whatever you get up to here, it will surely make for a memorable stay.
When we stayed at the pond house we experienced true relaxation. That rare kind of relaxation where you lose yourself to the day and time stands still. It was amazing. It was the morning spent sipping coffee, daydreaming while gazing out over the pond while fish swam by for a hello. A family of deer gracing us with a brief visit up the hill. The almost too long soak in the hot tub after a top notch hike, listening to the rain rolling in. Ending the day lounging in robes, watching the storm from the safety of the covered porch. It was a very sweet place and I think you would find some of that special relaxation there as well.
If your partner isn’t wooing you then the scenery at the farmhouse will surely sweep you off your feet. The sunsets here are like a love letter from the sun directly to you and only you, how can something be so beautiful? The beauty of Vermont is that no matter the time of year you might feel a chill enough to get the wood stove going. Nothing quite as romantic as curling up together by the fire. This charming little old gal is such a cozy spot to get lost for a few days. Beautiful hikes nearby provide plenty of fun during the days, looking for a little nightlife? Gussy up and hit the town, the proximity to fun while still being completely out there is a major bonus. If you are like me you’ll spend the night gazing up at the sky and counting shooting stars with my babe.
