A vast desert landscape sits before you, you’re sipping on your morning bev of choice as the sun is just cresting over the hills to the east. You’re in good company sitting on the porch, a pair of emus have come to join you and have started preening themselves. The mini horses with the morning zoomies are racing back and forth a few yards ahead. Morning on the farm is as entertaining as it is adorable. Come midmorning you’ll be in the company of a rotating cast of dogs who will steal your heart and make you laugh. No matter where you spend your time here it will undoubtedly be in the company of any of the residents of this animal sanctuary. The options for luxuriating include a cowboy pool that doubles as a hot tub, twin baths under the californian sky, lounge spots hidden throughout the property, and coming soon a natural pool. There are four separate stays that can be rented alone or together each with its own vibe. Kaleidoscope Desert is a nonprofit, magical 5-acre oasis and sanctuary for all creatures. Did I mention they care for over 100 animals that include the emus, dogs and horses from before as well as cows, ducks, goats, pigs and more.
